Located in the Residence "Le Manoir", the municipal library "Paul Eluard" of Ault impresses by the setting in which it is installed, that of an old theater with a wooden ceiling in the shape of an upturned ship's hull and which, thanks to its mezzanine, allows the readers to lose themselves in the decor as well as among the books. And this is not what is missing since the municipal library offers about 7000 books in its own collection (purchases, donations) in Ault and 4000 books from the annex of the Somme departmental library located in Saint Riquier, renewing 10% of the books on deposit twice a year.

However, in order to satisfy the readers more quickly on a request of work, a shuttle of the Departmental Library passes once per month and brings the works or CD requested by the readers.

A shuttle of the network of libraries passes once a week in order to bring the reservations of the readers on their privileged site and to take again the books deposited in a library that its site of origin. Thus the reader does not move. Only the book circulates by shuttle from one site to another

ACTIVITIES IN THE MUNICIPAL LIBRARY "PAUL ELUARD
The librarian offers various activities: exhibitions on different themes for adults or children, baby reader workshops for 0-3 years old, musical awakening for 0-3 years old, afternoon readings, story time, various workshops for creations, contests, visit of authors, participative literary evenings, etcall year long, with the participation of volunteers, members of the association of friends of the library: "J'écris ton nom", readers or members of the municipal animation commission.
A nice novelty for the summer in Ault 2020: reading at the beach with 2 booths installed and open: one on the esplanade of Ault -centre on Tuesdays from 14h to 17h and the other on the esplanade of Ault Onival on Thursdays from 14h to 17h. Cancellation in case of bad weather

During the covid period: Open to all. Number of visitors restricted - wearing a mask is compulsory from 11 years old - hydroalcoholic gel at the entrance and the exit of the place. Gloves must be worn by readers looking for books in the stacks. 3-day quarantine for books entering the library.
